No show is perfect. The biggest complaint about Ask Laftan Anlamaz is the (around episodes 20–28). Once the main couple gets together, the writers introduce unnecessary misunderstandings, a cliché jealous ex, and a slightly dragged-out separation arc. The "big misunderstanding" that drives them apart could have been solved with a single honest conversation. Additionally, the supporting characters (the best friend, the rival) are mostly one-dimensional.

The story follows Hayat (Hande Erçel), a cheerful, clumsy, and slightly naive young woman who lands a job at a prestigious advertising agency. Her boss is Murat Sarsılmaz (Burak Deniz), a cold, arrogant, and perfectionist heir to the Sarsılmaz holding. After a disastrous first meeting (where he literally knocks her over with his car door), Hayat lies to impress her traditional mother, claiming Murat is her boyfriend.
