"Death Wish" is a term that has been popularized through various media, including films, music, and literature. The concept generally revolves around a storyline or theme where a character seeks revenge or a way to circumvent death, often through illegal or violent means. One of the most iconic representations of this theme is the film series that began with the 1974 movie "Death Wish," starring Charles Bronson. The original "Death Wish" film, directed by Michael Winner, introduced audiences to Paul Kersey, a law-abiding family man played by Charles Bronson. After his wife is murdered and his daughter is left paralyzed from a gunshot wound during a home invasion, Kersey becomes disillusioned with the slow response and seeming inefficacy of the police. He decides to take matters into his own hands, leading to a series of vigilante actions.
