Ghosts S01e13 Bd9 〈AUTHENTIC〉

Sam and Jay discover a hidden Prohibition-era vault in the basement of the Woodstone Mansion. Inside, they find the corpse of a bootlegger named "Chet" (played by Nicholas Cirillo ). The ghosts reveal that Chet was murdered by his partner, "Stacks" (a rival gangster), and that his body was sealed in the vault 100 years ago.

The main conflict arises when the ghosts (particularly Prohibition-era ghost and Sassappis ) argue over whether Sam should help Chet cross over ("sucked off") or keep him around as a new ghostly companion. Ultimately, Sam helps Chet find peace, and he successfully "moves on" — marking the first time in the series that a ghost is shown ascending (other than a brief moment in the pilot).
