These “Nobita movies” (e.g., Nobita’s Dinosaur , Nobita’s Great Adventure in the South Seas ) follow a rigid narrative formula: a mundane problem, discovery of a fantastical gateway, a journey to a parallel world or distant time, a conflict with a villain, and a return home. This paper argues that far from being repetitive, the formula provides a stable psychological framework for exploring childhood anxieties, responsibility, and growth—with Nobita’s flaws (cowardice, poor grades) becoming the very traits that resolve the plot.
