“Come on, come on,” she whispered, jamming the trackpad. Google Docs had frozen again. Her internet had flickered out ten minutes ago—a casualty of a thunderstorm rolling through the valley. Without Wi-Fi, her $300 Chromebook was a plastic-and-glass coaster.
