The entire gimmick of the franchise is the uncanny valley of a wide, terrifying grin. In 720p, facial details get softened. You lose the tears in the eyes, the slight twitch of the lip, and the digital effects blending reality. It looks like a blurry YouTube video from 2010. The Verdict: Don't Do It If you absolutely must watch Smile 2 today and cannot afford a theater ticket or a VOD rental, be prepared for disappointment.
