The Cold Open: A Mother’s Reckoning We pick up exactly where Episode 3 left off. Karen (Maryam Cneajna) is standing in the rain, staring at the cryptic text message on her phone: “He knows about the baby.” The camera lingers just long enough to make your skin crawl. Is this about her secret son? Or is it about the new detective, Vincent (Kristos Andrews), who seems to know a little too much about everyone’s past? Probably not
