If you cannot find the "Blocking" menu, use the search bar inside Settings. Type "Block" and it will appear instantly. Part 4: The Critical "What Happens Next" Rules This is where most users get confused. You unblocked them. Now what? Rule #1: They Are Not Your Friend Again When you block someone, Facebook severs the friendship link. When you unblock them, Facebook does not automatically re-add them as a friend. You have to send a new friend request (or they have to send one to you). Rule #2: The "Wait 48 Hours" Trap Here is the most frustrating glitch in the system. If you block someone, unblock them, and then immediately try to add them as a friend, Facebook will often give you an error message saying "Action Blocked" or "Friend request cannot be sent."

Facebook does send a notification that says, "Hey, [Name] has unblocked you!"
