Seventeen years after Scott Adkins redefined DTV (Direct-to-Video) action with Undisputed II: Last Man Standing , fans are still clamoring for what they call the “true sequel.” But with the franchise currently in flux following the 2023 spin-off Boyka: Undisputed , what is the real status of Undisputed 2 ?

One thing is certain: The steel-and-concrete world of prison fighting remains one of action cinema’s most beloved arenas. Whether it’s Boyka or a new “Most Complete Fighter,” the spirit of Undisputed is far from knocked out.

In a November 2025 interview on The Action Elite podcast, producer Isaac Florentine (director of II and III ) confirmed that a new Undisputed project is in “active development.” However, he clarified: “The studio wants to modernize it. Scott [Adkins] is the heart of this franchise, but the character of Boyka had a complete arc. Boyka: Undisputed ended with him finding peace. To do a direct Undisputed 2 with that character would undo his redemption. So we are looking at a new protagonist.” While Adkins has stated he would “never say never” to playing Boyka again, his 2026 schedule is packed with John Wick: Chapter 5 and the Deathstroke solo series.
