On paper, this sounds like a convenient way to back up your own creations or access public assets offline. The Review What "Works" (Technically) The tools (like ripper apps or specific forks of MelonLoader mods) do function from a technical standpoint. If you have the Avatar ID of a public avatar, these tools can download the .vrca asset bundle and extract the .unity3d files. You can then re-upload that avatar to your own account. The Severe Downsides 1. It is a Terms of Service (ToS) Violation VRChat explicitly bans any form of client modification that bypasses their API to download assets not intended for you.
