He stood on the edge of the Void and looked back at his home. The World of Smudge was beautiful, he realized. A place of soft tragedies and overlapping dreams. But it was also a place of comfortable lies, where nothing was ever truly lost because nothing was ever truly found. It didn’t destroy it
A tiny, grey blur spread from the break, like charcoal dust under a trembling hand. This was the first Smudge. And from it, the World of Smudge was born.
In the beginning, there was the Line. Clean, sharp, and infinite, it was the only truth in the universe. Everything that existed was either inside the Line or outside it. Inside was Order. Outside was nothing.
