You, Season 1, Episode 8 (“You Got Me, Babe”): The Calm Before the Cage

The episode picks up immediately after the disastrous revelation that Candace is alive. Joe’s perfect world — the bookshop, the “love” of Beck, the disposal of Peach — all of it hinges on his past staying dead. But Candace’s return isn’t just a shock; it’s an indictment. If you thought last week’s episode was tense, Episode 8 of You — “You Got Me, Babe” — is the narrative equivalent of watching someone tiptoe through a minefield while humming a love song.
